Bon Voyage!

初次看到吉屋出租Rent這齣音樂劇，是在大二時在美國百老匯偶然的機會，跟著同好，很快就迷上這樣充滿張力的歌舞劇表演方式，輕快的節奏，感性又動人的歌聲，帶給我一次又一次如同坐著雲霄飛車般的驚喜感受!

《吉屋出租》這部搖滾音樂劇在1996年1月，於紐約市的New York Theatre Workshop首演， 之後並獲得東尼獎及普立茲獎的肯定。這齣音樂劇改編自普契尼的歌劇《波希米亞人》，劇情描寫於一群窮困的藝術家和音樂家，即使在愛滋病的陰影下仍然努力追尋愛與夢想的故事。印象很深刻劇中一段話，「樂意像Angel一樣死去，只求為一個不畏懼說『我愛你』的人而活。」(happy to die for a taste of what Angel had -- someone to live for, unafraid to say “I love you.”)

這麼精彩的好戲，當然不能錯過男女主角的戲份，接下來要與大家分享其中一首經典好歌：男女主角Mimi和Roger定情之歌~ Light My Candle

我就不將英文歌詞中譯了，大致上還蠻淺顯易懂的，以下為我的另一種體會，分享給大家。

男主角察覺女主角的異狀,

即使生活困頓 也要樂觀活下去

"他"是唯一不同, 還是其實都一樣?

They turned off my heat

男女主角用著僅存的保護色與外界接觸, 過去的經驗影響著他們

Weak on my feet 

落難的公主與王子都渴望獲得救贖

What are you staring at?

Nothing 

男主角陷入過去與現在交錯的時空

Your hair in the moonlight

You look familiar

Can you make it? 

過去的傷痛把他的心緊緊封閉  

Just haven't eaten much today

At least the room stopped spinning.

相似的遭遇似乎引起男主角注意

如果人生中最悲慘的不過是死亡 那還有什麼可以懼怕的呢? 不是零就是一 已沒有退路

 人生的戲碼不斷上演，感同身受就如同為女主角的悲傷遭遇心急，歡喜男主角與女主角的相遇與相知，但卻又如陷入地獄深淵般的分離痛苦。每齣戲的結局就如同人生過程也許不是最好的或如意的，卻往往能比浴火鳳凰破繭而出般的更深刻動人!
